Exciting News! 2012
I launched a Kickstarter campaign and it successfully funded late February. For those not familiar, Kickstarter is a very exciting way to fund and follow creativity. I have supported several projects and have enjoyed being part of each of them. Now that my project has funded, I am in the process of creating my first studio album of original songs. Stay tuned for the finished album, hopefully around August!
After School Art Classes
Starting in April 2012, I will be teaching the second term of after school art classes at The Ivy School. I am really looking forward to more exploring and art making with the students!
I am happy to have completed my Specialist Certificate in Music Theory at Berklee College of Music! It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed refreshing my old theory and learning new in depth theory from a more jazz oriented perspective, to compliment the classical training I have had in the past. Looking forward to putting some of this new knowledge into practice in my piano teaching and my songwriting. December 2011
Art & Music in the new year
Nothing like an adventure to rev up the creative spirit.....
After 6 weeks traveling the UK, this year has started off with lots of new energy for painting, music making, and some exciting new possibilities (details to come).
I am now teaching beginning piano/music and love incorporating art making into the lessons. My young students are naturally drawn to the concepts and building blocks of music when making art is an integral part of the learning process. Art making & music making have always gone hand in hand for me and it is exciting to be working in these realms with children again.
Painting, drawing, making lots of music, writing new songs & doing more performing feels like a very good start to the year.
May 2011 be good to you!
